Vida Poursorkhabi received her BSc in Chemical Engineering from Isfahan University of Technology, Iran, and MSc in Polymer Engineering from Tarbiat Modares University, Iran. She joined Bioproducts Discovery and Development Centre (BDDC) at University of Guelph in 2011 where she studied lignin materials and characterization, electrospinning of lignin (and biopolymers), and production of lignin-based carbon fibers and received her PhD in Engineering. Dr. Poursorkhabi has joined Center for Biocomposites and Biomaterials Processing (CBBP), U of Toronto, in July 2016. She has experience of working with chemical industries as well as automotive industry specifically for producing interior car parts. Her research interests include polymer spinning, polymer characterization, nanotechnology, and advanced functional polymers for energy storage/conversion devices.
